 BETA Members Join Assembly Member Danny Gilmore to Stuff the Bus with Back to School Supplies!

BETA member Brandon Manning and Chief of Staff Valory Mitchell work the crowd at Kmart on Wilson Road.

Many of our BETA members went to locations around Bakersfield and throughout Kern County to encourage shoppers to pick up a few school supplies to donate to the Stuff The Bus event. The school supplies will be distributed to children throughout the Bakersfield City School District and other districts in Kern County. Thank you to all the members that volunteered and a BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE to Danny Gilmore and his staff for making a difference in the lives of our students.

President Brad Barnes welcomed new teachers to the BETA family. Over 50 new teachers attended the New Teacher Luncheon and learned about the services that our professional  organization has to offer. As they ate their lunch they filled out membership forms, learned about their disability in- surance and gained an under-standing that they are protected with million dollar liability coverage provided to them when they sign-up as members.

We Read! We Danced! We Laughed!

 Jacky Parks of KERO 23 dances with Katherine Jordan (1) and Kathy Kozlowski (2) at the 2nd Annual Read Across Bakersfield on Sunday, March 1st.

The house was packed for the 2nd Annual Read Across Bakersfield Event. Children of all ages enjoyed the stories, face painting, movie, wacky food and all the fun that was funny. Thank you Michelle Johnson for organizing another wonderful RAB event.
